Practicum Placement

Bridging Design & Wellness Services

Over the course of my 150-hour practicum with Wellness Services at Lethbridge Polytechnic, I expanded both my personal and professional creative skills while working in a real-world environment. This experience allowed me to apply the design principles and technical knowledge gained through the Digital Communication and Media program to projects intended for the students of Lethbridge Polytechnic.

Through the creation of wellness-focused promotional materials, I developed a stronger understanding of visual communication, audience engagement, and project planning. The practicum provided valuable insight into how effective design can support student well-being while meeting organizational goals.

This experience strengthened my confidence as a designer and provided valuable professional experience that will support my future career in digital communications and media.

Visual Designs

During my practicum, I created a variety of visual communication materials designed to promote student wellness and increase awareness of available resources.

The first two examples showcase a healthy eating brochure developed to provide students with accessible nutritional information in a clear and engaging format. These pieces were created using Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator.

The remaining pieces highlight additional promotional materials created for Wellness Services, including wellness awareness and informational posters. These posters were designed using Affinity Designer.

Each project demonstrates my ability to apply design principles, create visually engaging content, and communicate information effectively to a student audience while maintaining a professional standard of quality.
